MAIRA CALDERON

Maira grew up learning that when something is possible, it’s shared—and when it isn’t, it’s respected. Raised in a close, humble family, she learned early that fairness, honesty, and helping others matter more than speed or shortcuts.

She carries her father’s advice and her grandmother’s wisdom into everything she does: do things right, and do them with love. Maira believes knowledge should never be kept—it should be passed on, just like it was passed to her.

Coffee didn’t pull her back to the farm by force. Life did. And once she returned, she chose to stay—not because it was easy, but because it was honest work, done for the people she loves and the future she believes in.

BUENAVISTA FARM

Buenavista Farm is more than land. It’s memory.

This farm was entrusted to Maira’s father by her grandmother, with one condition: it could never be sold. It had to remain a place where family could always return—a home, a refuge, a shared inheritance.

For years, the farm stood still. When the family returned during the pandemic, they began rebuilding it piece by piece—clearing overgrowth, restoring the house, and bringing coffee back to life.

Every improvement is done with care, because this land carries the voice of Maira’s grandmother, who believed that anything made with love tastes better. Buenavista is proof that roots don’t fade—they wait.

IMPACT

Choosing Maira’s coffee means choosing progress that stays where it’s needed most.

Higher earnings through direct access to the market allow her family to improve their quality of life—finishing a long-overdue home, investing in basic machinery, and creating better conditions for the next generation.

But impact goes beyond infrastructure. It’s about dignity. It’s about producers finally tasting their own coffee, understanding its value, and taking control of their future.

Every cup supports a family that works with intention, learns by doing, and believes that love—real love—still matters in coffee.
