MARIA DEL PILAR NARANJO

Where precision becomes purpose

María del Pilar wasn’t born among coffee trees, but coffee found her when she needed it most.

An industrial engineer and mother to Gabriel, she chose to leave the rush of the city to listen to something deeper: the call of a life with meaning.

In the mountains of Líbano, Tolima —a region with over 150 years of coffee tradition— she discovered that coffee is not a crop; it’s a living system that responds to those who care for it. There, alongside her family, she transformed ten hectares into a place where patience, technique, and love take shape in every bean.

During the pandemic, while the world stopped, she moved forward. She invested, organized, learned. She took ownership of every step: from flotation to selection, from traceability to precision.

Every decision, every detail, every lot… is a promise.

Today, her coffee travels from a quiet mountain to your home.

And in every sip lives the story of a woman who chose to build a different future for her son, for her community, and for Colombian coffee itself.

This isn’t just coffee. It’s intention. It’s discipline. It’s a new way to see the origin.

LOS PINOS

My farm is more than a place where coffee is grown.

It’s a long-term life project built with patience, learning, and deep respect for the rhythm of the land.

Every decision here matters. From selecting cherries at their peak ripeness to carefully managing washed and natural processes, the focus has always been the same: quality over volume. Coffee is never rushed. It’s guided.

For many years, we worked using traditional methods. Over time, new questions emerged—about fermentation, drying, and how small technical adjustments could unlock better expression in the cup. Today, the farm is in constant evolution, combining technical precision with the family values that have always defined our work.

Each lot reflects that balance: tradition, curiosity, and an honest effort to let the origin speak for itself.

IMPACT

For a long time, producing high-quality coffee didn’t mean living with stability. The effort wasn’t reflected in the price, and decisions were often controlled by intermediaries who never saw the work behind each harvest.

Unchained changes that.

By selling my coffee directly to the final consumer, I’m stepping into a new role: producer and exporter, with real control over my work and its value. The impact is tangible:

  • Greater financial stability for my family
  • The ability to invest in infrastructure and better equipment
  • Access to high-level education in specialty coffee
  • The freedom to plan for the future with less uncertainty

But the impact goes beyond economics. It’s emotional and cultural. It’s the confidence of knowing that the care put into every lot is finally recognized. It’s the motivation to keep learning, improving, and proving that there is a better way to do this.

Every cup supports more than a farm.

It supports a decision—to respect the producer and change how coffee moves through the world.
